Save the Date: PCAPS Open Session 2026 taking place Wednesday, 19 August 2026

The annual PCAPS Steering Group (SG) meeting will be held at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute in Oslo, Norway this year. As part of these annual meetings, we organise an Open Session, which offers an opportunity for stakeholders across the whole forecasting value chain to learn more about and engage with the PCAPS Task Teams and SG members, in addition to other stakeholders. The 2026 PCAPS Open Session will include keynote presentations, an expert panel discussion and an interactive group exercise, to discuss implications for service provision and operational decision-making in addition to exploring avenues for long-term partnerships.

The 2026 PCAPS Open Session is open for in-person participation. For those unable to attend in-person, the keynote presentations and the expert panel discussion will be streamed digitally.

Previous Open Sessions served as a forum for rich discussion and future interactions between various stakeholders and the PCAPS community.

We invite stakeholders from polar research, operations, policy, and community sectors to connect and share their perspectives on challenges, bottlenecks, and opportunities in providing and using polar environmental services, with a specific focus on data sharing and open data principles.
